Thursday Predictions

Yesterday was another wonderful performance night of So You Think You Can Dance.  I love this show and the talent this year is absolutely amazing.

The first couple to dance was Sasha and Alexandar.  They did a contemporary that was beautiful.  Amazing use of the piano as a prop.  You could see the emotion in the piece, very believable.  Sasha is one of my favorite girls!

Caitlynn and Mitchell performed a hot Samba number.  I thought that Caitlynn's dress was distracting, but not her fault.  I was amazed that Mitchell's hips were moving like they were supposed to.  Hot little number.
Next up, Robert and Miranda doing a Broadway.  I didn't love it.  I didn't feel like the storyline went with the dance or music.  I'm not a fan of Broadway anyways so my opinion might not amount to anything really.
Melanie and Marko!  This is a power house couple.  The did a Nappy/Tabs hip hop number that was amazing.  The emotion was totally displayed.  And the kiss....priceless.
Ashley and Chris did a Jazz number.  Ashley hits harder then Chris so they didn't "match" up well.  Nigel complained about the music not going with the dance...not their fault.  Wasn't my favorite at all but it was danced well.
Clarice and Jess did the foxtrot.  The camera angels were throwing me off and they (the cameras) kept moving alot.  All the judges liked it, Mary loved it.  I new Jess would do well with this.  Clarice did well too.  Her dress was amazingly beautiful.
Ryan and Ricky did contemporary.  This is both of their genre.  They (Ryan) really need this routine.  Ryan actually didn't smile throughout the whole piece like usual.  Thank God!  Very good performance.  Great use of their prop.
Jordan and Tadd did a Nappy/Tabs hip hop.  Loved it but did feel like some moves should have been hit harder.  I do want to say thank God I don't read the SYTYCD forums anymore.  I can already hear all the moms saying how this routine was inappropriate for t.v.  I love it!  It was realistic.

Now to predict who will be in the bottom three. This is hard because as a couple I don't feel anyone should but I do feel certain individuals should.  So, based on last nights performance her are my predictions:
  • Robert and Miranda
  • Ashley and Chris
  • Clarice and Jess
Who do I think will go home?  Luckily I only have to choose one boy and one girl this week (last week was tough).  I think it will be Miranda and Chris.  Not totally sure why I picked them.  Everyone is so great this year it is really hard to make predictions.

Baby sister

Today is my baby sister's 28th birthday!  I've watched her grow up and I honestly get teary eyed thinking about it.  From the little girl with a boy hair cut in overalls to the cute girl with red Sally Jessie Raphael glasses.  She was always some what of a tomboy growing up.  But I've watched her become a beautiful young woman who I love with all my heart and admire in so ways.  The little girl who always thought she would have nothing has everything and more.  I was there when she was pinned in nursing school and that was a wonderful moment.  Then she was there for me when I got married.  She gave the most depressing speech in the world because she didn't think she would find love like I have with my husband.  And then shortly after she met the man of her dreams.  My most heart felt moment...when I watched my baby sister walk down the aisle to become the wife of someone that loved her as much as I did.  So baby girl, I love you so much and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!  You make me proud of the life you have made for yourself.

Fat Tuesday

It is just that....a FAT Tuesday.  I gained a pound.  I been blah about the whole weight loss thing so really it is my own fault.  Let's take today for example...went to Target for lunch and I could have just left and gone back to the office.  Nope!  My fat ass walked right up to the food part, ordered a yummy big pretzel with nacho cheese and a Pepsi!  THAT'S WHAT I ATE FOR LUNCH!!!!  I sit here typing this and shaking my head at myself.  I need to snap out of this.  I need to at least watch what I eat if I'm not going to exercise.  Lord help me!

Hope everyone else is staying on track better then me.

The Results....6/23

I blogged ALL last season of So You Think You Can Dance and I have never (NEVER) guess all three of the bottom three correctly....until last night!  I honestly surprised myself.  Usually America and I don't agree when it comes to dancing.  So the six of them had to dance for their lives:
  • Wadi
  • Missy
  • Iveta
  • Nick
  • Ryan
  • Ricky
I didn't think all of them really "danced for their lives".  Some of them their auditions were better.  And I thought who was going home was wrong.  I thought for SURE Ryan was going home and she is the only girl that was saved!  I thought Missy was a favorite of the judges.  But, I'm ok to see Missy go.  Something about her I didn't like.  She's a great dancer and she is going places, now I just don't have to see her face every week.  The guys it was a toss up for me.  I knew Nick was going home for sure.  But I wasn't sure between Ricky and Wadi.  But after they performed their solos I knew hands down Ricky was staying.  I see all the dancers that went home going places.  This year they have exeptional dancers and SYTYCD is just a stepping stone for them.

Five Question Friday

It's finally Friday and I don't have to work!  Hell yeah!  I see a bottle or two of wine in my future.  Feel free to link up with Mama M. for Five Question Friday.

1. What is your current favorite tv show?

So You Think You Can Dance hands down!  Honestly it is one of my favorite things about summer time!!!

2. What's the worst haircut you ever got?

My SENIOR year I thought I wanted bangs.  My mom had always cut my hair so no big deal right?  Um, no.  So my mom TAPED my bangs down and cut them where I wanted them to be.....  But when you take the tape off and the hair dryes....THEY WERE SUPER SHORT!!!!  SENIOR YEAR!!!!

3. What was something that you did as a child that you thought you were so cool for doing?

I wore a bra before all my friends.  I was an early bloomer....but apparently that was all I was getting because there are days I feel a training bra is all I need.

4. Do you have any GREAT frugal family fun tips?

I don't have many frugal tips.  I do take my family's photos myself so that saves a little money.

5. Would you drive across country if you had the money to fly?

If we had the extra time to take off to drive, absolutely!

Have a good weekend.

Thursday Predictions

It's that time of year again.  My favorite t.v. time.  So You Think You Can Dance is on!  Everyone in my house now hates me every Wednesday and Thursday because they must listen to Mary's screams again.  But I love this show so much.  If you were with my blog this time last year you now the drill.  For all you newbies, every Thursday I do a re-cap of all the dances and who I think will be in the bottom 3 and who I think will go home.  On Friday I give you by views on who went home and why.

Now, when I watched the show last night I didn't take notes like I usually do.  So I might be a little vague this week and the dances will not be listen in order they were preformed.  Bare with me this week.

Ashley and Chris preformed a Broadway number, "Please, Mr. Jailer".  I didn't care for it at all.  There wasn't much dancing with them together because he was in "jail".  I also don't feel like the music really went with the dancing much.
Caitlynn and Mitchell danced a contemporary, "Turning Tables".  I really liked this one.  I felt it was danced well.
Clarice and Jess preformed a contemporary, "Cathedrals".  I thought this was an awesome number and well danced.  Am I the only one when they say Clarice I think of Silence of the Lambs?  Just checkin.
Iveta and Nick did a Bollywood routine, "Baawre".  Iveta looks amazing at anything she does.  Nick seemed a little akward to me.
Jordan and Tadd did the viennese waltz, "Fade into Me".  I love everything that Jordan does.  I think that Tadd did well also.
Melanie and Marko did a Jazz number, "Sing with a Swing".  I don't "love" jazz to begin with.  It was well danced.  Melanie is also an amazing dancer.
Miranda and Robert got a hip hop number, "Break ya Neck".  I didn't really care for the whole woodpecker thing but I enjoyed the dance.  Robert is one of my favorites, probably has alot to do with his personality.
Missy and Wadi did a Cha-Cha, "Cannibal".  I don't think it was a good song to do the cha-cha to.  Wadi needs to work on his ballroom, he didn't look comfortable at all.  I don't feel as if Missy pulled it off very well either, the judges disagreed.  I'm going to put this out there now...not sure why but I don't like Missy.  Not sure what it is.
Ryan and Ricky did a jazz number, "Addicted to Love".  I loved the song.  I think Ryan had the same problem this week as last, to smiley.  Other than that, it was danced great.
Sasha and Alexander did a hip hop to "Coming Home".  I think everyone will agree...best dance of the night!  I loved everything about it.  I think Sasha is a true star.

As far as my predictions...hmmm.  Three couples will be in the bottom three.  I think it will be:
  • Iveta and Nick
  • Ryan and Ricky
  • Missy and Wadi
This week 4 people will be going home since no one went home last week.  2 guys and 2 girls.  It's going to be hard this year to make predictions.  The girls are all AMAZING!!!!  But none the less, here are my picks:
  • Nick-I don't know if he is strong enough in the other genres to make it
  • Wadi-while I personally really like him, I don't know if America feels the same way.  He is only trained in hip-hop.  It might end up hurting him.
  • Ryan-her dancing is amazing but her "performance" needs alot of work
  • Missy-I personally have seen something wrong both weeks but Nigel is like in love with her so I know this one is wrong.
I know some of my predictions are wrong.  It is hard picking 3 couples to be in the bottom 3 knowing that 4 of the 6 are going home.  Tonight will be a surprise for me but then maybe I'll have an idea of how America feels.

And they danced

Sunday night Robert and I were sitting around outside the garage drinking a glass of wine while the kids played.  Then my oldest, Alexys, and youngest, Blake, decided to dance.
I know what you are thinking....yes, there was music.  But they looked so cute!
Alexys is two-steppin with him hear.  I have to capture these moments now.  As they grow older I know occasions like this will be less frequent.  I use to hate the age gap with the three kids but now I actually like it.  Gives them a chance to appreciate each other for different things.  Besides, the older ones help me take care of the baby and keep my sanity after a sleepless night.

Happy hump day!

Fat Tuesday

So, I gained a little weight.  .2 pounds.  Not much like I said.  I've been a little blah about the whole watch what you eat thing.  Then I go to try and find something cute to wear and I'm cussing myself for that second helping of mac n' cheese or something else silly.  I'll get back in the swing...eventually.

Hope all of you guys are doing much better.

A good Daddy

I hope everyone had a good father's day.  I enjoyed spending the day with my wonderful hubby and our kids.
He never thinks it is silly to get down on the ground and crawl around with the baby.  And, as you can see...the little guy eats that up.
All smiles from these two.  They love to play hard.
Here are all my boys!  Don't they look alike....sometime I feel like Daddy gave birth to them and not me.
And here is the #1 dad with his oldest and youngest!

A father can be many things.  It takes a special kind of man to be there for his kiddos when they truely need them.  To be able to break down and cry at the birth of them or because the participated in an awesome program with school.  The one that teaches them to hunt, ride a four wheeler and even help them take their first steps.

I love you for being an awesome dad!

5 Question Friday

Yippie!  It's Friday!!!!  Link up with Mama M. She's pretty cool and you should really be following her anyways.

1. What is your favorite summer time activity?

We have 3 camping trips planned with the WHOLE family every summer.  I love it!

2. Do you have one laundry soap you stick to, or do you buy whatever's on sale?

I'm a sale girl....I try not to change it to often so it doesn't screw with the baby's skin though.

3. What is your favorite dinner to make in the summer?

My current new obsession....grilled zucchini and squash!  We usually serve it with chicken, mostly because it is cheap and we feel alot of people.

4. Do you have any talents?

You are always harder on yourself then anyone else is.  So while I don't think I have any talents, others think I do.  Some like my knack for photography or decorating or just being generally crafty.  They are all crazy.

5. If you could instantly be an expert in something, what would it be? Why?

Photography!  This has been a love of mine since early high school.  I would love to be able to take awesome photos of family and friends so we wouldn't need to pay for pricey photographers again!

I was feathered, and I liked it!

I went and got my hair done yesterday and my hairdresser asked me if I wanted to get feathered.  I know it is the "new" thing to do, I've seen people with it.  But it's not like I'm a young little thing anymore, plus I didn't really want to spend the extra money.  She showed me what they had to pick from.  They had turquoise feathers!  My favorite color!  I did just get my Scentsy Commission so I said what the hell and I GOT FEATHERED!  I'm the new cool kid on the block, watch out!

We became one

I remember the day our two hearts joined and became one.  I also remember think that day would never come....we had been together for 8 years.  I love this photo.  My step-daughter, that never cries, is crying in the background.  Priceless!

Hope everyone is enjoying their Thursday.

I need sleep

Since for some reason I've been blessed with extra blog traffic I feel the need to pull together a post to try and keep people a little interested.  Problem is....I have nothing!

I do however have an issue in my household.  The cute little baby you see in the photo...he wakes up EVERY night between 10 and 11 and will NOT go back to sleep in his own bed!

Now, I love my children with all my heart and would do anything for them but enough is enough.  This has gone one for about 2 weeks.  I don't sleep well when the cutest little baby in the world is snuggled next to me.  Also, hubby and I have no alone time (know what I mean).  I think we will just have to bite the bullet one night and stay up while he screams at us until he starts sleeping in his bed again.

But he's still the cutest baby!

He's a trooper

This little boy of mine is a trooper.  He woke me up at 8:00 am Saturday.  So I got up and got ready.  By 10 we were out the door shopping for some new decor.  He was a good ALL day.  Sitting in the car then the buggy at stores.  A few stores didn't have buggies so we (my neighbor and I) took turns holding his chunky little butt.  The above photo was at the second to last store.  He didn't nap all day.  He had finally fell asleep in the car and then we got to Michael's Craft store.  When I was carrying him in I was trying to get him to lay his head down.  Nope, he sat straight up with his eyes closed.  As soon as we got inside and put him in the buggy he layed his little head down.  Cutest thing I've ever seen!

Fat Tuesday

Well, I gained 2 pounds.  But I'm not going to stress about it.  I know I haven't been eating awesome so I kind of expected it.  I know I need more hours in my day!  I want to be able to have treadmill time but as it is I don't go to bed until almost midnight.

I have been trying to eat veggies more.  The neighbor grills zucchini and squash with some oil and seasonings.....HEAVENLY.  So I need to go grocery shopping and buy some yummy and healthy stuff.

Hope everyone did well this week.

5 Question Friday

I'm so happy!!!  It's Friday, bring on the wine.  Wait, it's only 9 a.m., I guess I need to wait.  Feel free to link up with Mama M. for Five Question Friday.

1. How close to your childhood dreams is your life now?

Not to far off.  When I was little I wanted to be a math teacher or an accountant.  I'm the controller at my job so I'm in charge of all accounting.  I'm married and have kids...on target.

2. What is one must have item for the summer?

Flip Flops!  I like to let my toes breath all the summer.

3. Do you have your kids stay up on school stuff during summer vacation? (Or, if you don't have kiddos, did your parents make you keep up on school stuff during summer?)
I let them do whatever.  I do have my 10 year old keep a summer journal.  It will be cute to look back on when he gets older.

4. Do you can or freeze fresh produce?

No.

5. Do you get ready for the day first thing in the morning?

During the week, I roll out of bed, brush my teeth and start straightening my hair.  On the weekends I just see where the day leads me.

He makes me smile

This little boy makes me smile, alot!  He is getting his own personality and I love it.  I love that ever morning when I change his diaper, he wants kisses.  I love that when I pick him up from daycare he is so excited to see me he almost shakes.  I love the way he giggles when I take off his shoes and socks.  I love the cute little way he tries to blow kisses.  I love the way he plays peek-a-boo.  I love that when he gets sleepy, he snuggles.

I love this boy!

Summer Mantel

This weekend I want to redecorate my mantel.  I want it summer/beach themed.  Here are a few mantel's I've fallen in love with and hope mine looks something like them.
