Fat Tuesday

I am beginning to hate this day of the week more and more.  I gained a pound and a half.  Ugh!  I know it is no ones fault but my own.  I'm the one that chooses to eat crap and then not work out.  But I danced my ass off Saturday and thought that would count for something.  Clearly not!

Hope everyone else is doing MUCH better than I.

We've got a winner!

Once again I'm super late with my SYTYCD post but what ya gonna do!  Melaine won it!

I know Tadd wasn't going to make it all the way.  But I don't mean that to be ugly.  Tons of props to him for making it to the finale!  That is the farthest a b-boy has ever gone on the show!  I knew they would have first and second place between the two girls!  All of the top 20 are awesome dancers and I know we will be hearing from all of them again.

One thing that surprised me and my daughter when watching the finale....Ryan really stood out.  I don't know if she has been practicing a lot or what.  She was really really good.  I loved all the dances the judges picked at their favorites.  This was one of their best seasons!



Fat Tuesday

Well, I only lost .2 pounds.  But, it's a loss just the same.  My husband and I went out of town this weekend and eat like king and queens so losing anything is awesome!

I recently did a friends boudoir shoot and we made one of those hardback book at Walgreens.  It turned out AMAZING!!!  And, now I really want to do one.  So to do that, I must lose a little and tone up.  I've done it before it is just finding time to get on the treadmill now.  Having an extra kiddo in the house makes these things hard.  But I'm determined!

I have a few posts lined up for the week.  I still need to do the finale of SYTYCD and I had a nice weekend in Gruene and San Antonio I would like to share.  School will be starting around here next Tuesday so things will get a little crazy until the kids are back in that routine.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is enjoying there Monday.

My beautiful daughter!

My beautiful daughter turned 18 yesterday!  A day mixed with sadness and happiness.  She is an adult now.  And that means my baby girl is no more.  But I do know, that no matter how big my little girl gets...sometimes she still just needs me.

For those of you new to my blog, Alexys is actually my step-daughter.  I came into her life right before her 7th birthday and have been a constant ever since.  She gave me my first taste of motherhood.  She also let me know the love between a Mother and a Daughter.  She was my first.  I've always told her, she was my first child. 

It has always been important to me from the beginning that Alexys was treated the same as my boys.  If anything, I'm more over protective of her then them sometimes.  This became more so when she moved in with us a year ago.  She began introducing me to her friends as "her mom".  Now, in the world of step-momhood....that is the ULTIMATE compliment.  I've always said that I have 3 kids, her and my two boys that I gave birth to.  People often say I don't look old enough to have an 18 year old, I don't even correct them.  I just smile and say thank you.

My baby girl has given me so much more then she will ever know.  I hope she knows each and every day just how much I love her.  Without her there would be a void in my life.

I love you baby girl!  Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Thursday Predictions

Tonight is the last night of SYTYCD of the season!  Last night had some good ones and bad ones.

 Melanie and Marko do a disco.  I thought it looked all jacked up.  Their worst performance together, not that it was that bad (just the worse they have done together).  The lifts were not smooth.  Not a good performance for a season finale.

 Sasha and Mark do Jazz.  In case some of you live under a rock, Mark is one of Lady Gaga's dancers!  This dance was awesome!  I love Mark, perfect guy for this piece.  Awesome footwork and extensions.  Sasha always gives it her all.

 Tadd and Joshua do a hip hop routine.  I didn't love it.  I didn't think it was the dancers faults.  I didn't care for the choreography.  But he danced it well.  Tadd just looked like a little guy next to Joshua.

 Melanie and Robert do a contemporary number.  I didn't get the story but thought it was danced well.  Robert always does an amazing job.  Melanie partners very well with anyone.

 Sasha and Marko have a Broadway piece.  I liked it.  Marko stayed in character.  Awesome moves.  Very cute.

 Sasha and Tadd do a Cha Cha.  Not your normal cha cha, at least it didn't look like it.  Not a lot of booty shakin.  There were a few mess ups.  Not an awesome number but fun.

 Marko and Lauren do contemporary.  Very Good!  Great connections.  Emotional.  Good chemistry.  Great lifts.  One of the best of the night.

 Melanie and Tadd do a jazz.  Very fun routine.  Melanie does great in character!!  They did very well.

 Sasha and Melanie do a contemporary.  Totally got the story.  Great footwork.  Top 2 girls were amazing.

Marko and Tadd did a hip/hop.  They looked tired.  But I thought the choreography was great.  They work well together.

Now...who will win?  I know it is not Tadd.  I love him but the other two are better.  In all honesty, I think it will be a girl.  My opinion on it....  I think Melanie should win.  But this is really a popularity contest so I don't know how America did it.  Either way, they are both wonderful girls and will get several opportunities presented to them after the show and tour are over!
