Most amazing Woman

Today is/was my Grandma's birthday!  She was the most amazing woman I've ever known!  I remember going to visit her every summer since I was a little girl.  Those were wonderful summer memories.  She loved to laugh and make those around her so happy.  I think about her everyday.  I wonder what she thinks of me now, as a woman, a wife and a mom.

I miss her so much but I know she is always close in my heart and up in Heaven looking down.

Happy Birthday Grandma!  I Love You!

Race for the Cure

Last Saturday I did the Race for the Cure. It wasn't so much a race for me....we walked it. I think that still counts. The day didn't start well. I needed to wake up at 4:30 and leave my 5. My alarm never went off and I just happened to wake up around 4:55. I rushed to get dressed and then had to get Blake ready. If you have to wake up an 8 month old to do something...you are doing it way to early. Then we get downtown....and the traffic is awful! None the less, we register and are ready to go.
We all were walking in remembrance of our Grandmas. Here is Sabrena and Mindy sportin' their signs. My cute nephew, Dalton, joined us as well. He's not so much a morning person but that's cool.
Here is the super cute Blakester. I love this picture of him. He's always such a happy baby.
There were ALOT of people there supporting a really great cause.
Sabrena....I heart her.
Sabrena was SO excited we saw the Rockets mascot! She said it made getting up early worth it. I don't know about that.
Here is Sabrena and I. I made us girls matching shirts "Save the Tatas". We are pretty cool.
Then....Sabrena found Waldo! Who knew he supported breast cancer research.
We were walking for what seemed like forever (keep in mind we are not exactly "athletic" girls) and Sabrena said "I can't believe they don't have mile markers" and I responded (thinking I was being funny) "Maybe we haven't even gone a mile". And then we saw this!
Like, Really? Honestly I thought it was some funny shit! I was totally joking when I made the comment earlier.
Here is my sis-in-law, Mindy and I.
We made a little pit stop to change diapers and let Dalton stretch his legs. I like this picture of him and his momma.
Here is Sabrena and Dalton.
Mile 2! Go us!
We found a dancing wizard! Naturally we had to dance with him.
Mile 3! Almost done.
There is our time. Not to bad considering we were walking with strollers, stopped to go potty, and stopped again for diaper changes.
Group photo! Props go out to the little boys! They were very good.
Save the Tatas!
Dalton is sleepy, and so over being in the stroller (I don't blame him).
We got some awesome ideas for shirts and props for next year. We decided, almost immediately, that we will not be bringing the kids again. Not that the kids were bad, just to many people to try and maneuver two strollers in a crowd. Until next year....

Missing her

Those are my kids pictures on my Grandma's headstone. I got the text with this picture while I was taking a nap at work and my eyes filled with tears. I've always believed that everything happens for a reason but sometimes I feel I was robbed of my grandma to soon. I was the oldest grandchild yet she never got the chance to witness me getting married or meet my beautiful children. I know she is in Heaven and watches over us with love. I feel her presence just when I need her most. I was with her when she passed, holding her hand. I think one of the hardest things is her grave site is in Michigan and I'm hear in Texas. It would be nice to visit her... I know it is silly, she's not really there, but it would make all the difference in the world. I know she is proud of me with all I've done in my life...she was just that kind of lady. I still celebrate her birth...and her death. I love you very much Grandma. The kind of person you were...makes me the person I am today! Keep your eye on me and watch over my babies!

Wordless Wednesday

Not so Wordless.... Here is one of the beautiful pictures that http://nicolecphoto.blogspot.com/ took this past weekend of Blake. I am totally in love with this photo. Maybe I'm silly (or just missing her that much) but when I saw the way Blake was looking up in this photo I said "Awww, he's looking up at his great-grandma". Either way, Nicole did an excellent job! I can't wait to see the rest.

Happy Birthday Grandma

Today is my wonderful Grandma's birthday. She passed on many years ago, but will forever be in so many people's hearts. She was an amazing woman, never met anyone like her. She had a contagious laugh and always tried to see the bright side of things. I remember my many summers I spent with her...so I was always with her on her birthday. Not a day goes by that she doesn't go thru my mind. I know she is looking down on me and watching over me. So here's to an amazing Grandma, mother and wife! I hope you and Alayna had a little party. Love you!
