Dust Bunnies

I didn't realize how bad it had gotten. I haven't really done a "deep" cleaning since Blake has been born (keep in mind he just turned 10 months). Since my hubby and I got all the Christmas stuff out of the attic I thought it was a good time to clean the floors good before any Christmas stuff goes up in the house. We have wood floors, which I've learned to hate. They are just there so dust bunnies can easily collect now, this was never a problem when we had carpet. So, I got the vacuum out so I could start with the baseboards. Normally this would be an easy, quick and simple job....not so much when you have to watch your baby and this is his first time hearing the vacuum cleaner (Alexys normally vacuums before we get home). He screamed bloody murder, so I did it in spurts. I even flipped the couches and vacuumed under there as well. After all that was done I put up the tree. No ornaments, but the tree is up with lights and the room is clean.

Tonight Devon and I will put the ornaments on the tree. I like to do this as a family but I'm over "making" them do it. I shouldn't have to pull teeth to do traditions so I'll do them without them. Robert does at least put the angel on the tree for me but Alexys is just over the whole thing. Whatev!

This will be Blake's first Christmas! And our first Christmas as a happy party of 5! I want to decorate big this year and enjoy time with friends and family.

Enquiring Minds

It's that time again. Enquiring Minds want to Know. Link up with DollyCas's over at her blog and join in.
1. What is your favorite pizza topping.
I love plain cheese pizza. Better yet, cheese pizza from Papa John's! With garlic butter sauce of course! Yummy.
2. If you could give up one household chore forever, what would it be?

Dusting, for sure. Wait...I don't really ever dust anyways so I guess I almost have. Unfortunately I have dark furniture in my bed room so it shows dust easy so I do have to at least dust that room from time to time. 3. What is your favorite kind of music?

I don't really have a favorite. I like just about every type of music depending on my mood. But I love to rock out to my old school rap from high school and my early 20s. Oh, how I miss those days (sometimes). (clearly this is not me in the photo....but if I quit eating today, by this time next year I might be that skinny, lol)

Enjoy your Thursday! The weekend is almost here...I have a bottle of wine waiting for me when I get home Friday!!!!

Laundry of a little boy

I'm not totally sure how it happens, but babies go thru ALOT of laundry. I have had 3 baskets of CLEAN laundry in Blake's room for well over a month now. I always have good intentions of going home and folding and putting some of it up....but life happens and I just don't get to it, until last night. I came home and started dinner, feed Blake and then layed him down in the living room with a bottle. After his bottle I thought for sure he would go to sleep.....not so much. No biggie, he was playing quietly by himself. Then while we were sitting down eating dinner we heard Blake babbling to himself and all of a sudden quiet! I looked and he was passed out. Yay! After dinner I cleaned up the kitchen and went to tackle Blake's room. I started folding laundry and putting everything where it needed to go. Some of the clothes he had already grown out of so I put them in a bag. In no time, basket number 1 was done! I tackled basket number 2 and the pile on the floor! Mission accomplished. Then I realized when Blake did his exorcist throw up Sunday he got it on the carpet so hubby had to clean that up. I moved the humidifier and cleaned out two bags we had used to go to various places. I was pretty happy. Now I just need my mom to come Saturday and hang up two pictures and that room will be perfect! I loved getting things organized, takes the stress out of life.
