Date Night

My sister and I have talked about doing a double date night with our husbands for YEARS.  Last Saturday, we finally did it!  I was so excited.  I don't get to see my sis very often so to be able to sit and talk to her one on one about things was amazing to say the least.

We went and had an amazing dinner complete with a live band.  We loved the atmosphere.  We were very relaxed and ready to enjoy each others company.

Afterwards, we went to a bar next door and had drinks on the patio.  We were in downtown Houston and the view was amazing.  I really wish I would have had more than just my iphone camera with me.  Mental note: always go to cool new places with camera.  I drank Paradise Martinis.  Never had them before...and they were amazing.  We stayed until 2, got home at 3...alseep by 3:15.  It was so worth it!

Baby sister

Today is my baby sister's 28th birthday!  I've watched her grow up and I honestly get teary eyed thinking about it.  From the little girl with a boy hair cut in overalls to the cute girl with red Sally Jessie Raphael glasses.  She was always some what of a tomboy growing up.  But I've watched her become a beautiful young woman who I love with all my heart and admire in so ways.  The little girl who always thought she would have nothing has everything and more.  I was there when she was pinned in nursing school and that was a wonderful moment.  Then she was there for me when I got married.  She gave the most depressing speech in the world because she didn't think she would find love like I have with my husband.  And then shortly after she met the man of her dreams.  My most heart felt moment...when I watched my baby sister walk down the aisle to become the wife of someone that loved her as much as I did.  So baby girl, I love you so much and I hope you have a wonderful birthday!  You make me proud of the life you have made for yourself.

She is a thing of Beauty

Yesterday my mother and I went with Jamie for her bridal portraits. As if my sister wasn't beautiful enough....poof!!!....she gets even more beautiful. I thought for sure when I left the house that at some point in the day I would cry, I cry often when it comes to Jamie. When we were done with hair and make up we had lunch until it was time for the photo shoot. I actually got to hear about some of the wedding plans, I enjoyed it! But really, I enjoy spending any time with my sister...we both have busy lives. Then we get to the strip house (calm down, it's a restaurant) and Jamie puts on her dress. Oh My God! A thing of absolute beauty I tell ya. I felt myself get a little choked up and I knew that wouldn't help Jamie at all so I just started doing stuff. I kept myself busy and my mind off everything but thinking of her now....I get tears in my eyes. I can't wait to see the look on David's (mention #2 in my blog, lol) face when he sees his beautiful bride for the first time walking down the aisle.

Jamie's Bridal Shower

Yesterday was Jamie's bridal shower. I must say, my mother has out done herself once again. The place looked amazing. She had decorating ideas I would have never thought of. On the table for the white wines she had white flowers and white candles. For the red wines, red flowers and red candles. The food spread was beautiful as well. The cupcake bites were like a little slice of heaven. The point of this post is really for my beautiful sister not my mom's talented crafty abilities. It started Friday night, the emotions. I'm the emotional one...not just the emotional sister, but the most emotional person I know (it's annoying sometimes). I was getting all her games together and writing a toast for the shower when it started. My baby sister is getting married! I remember two years ago at my own wedding when Jamie gave the most depressing speech I've ever heard. She didn't think she would ever get the kind of happiness I had found with Robert. Little did she know she would find David (that's right David, you made it in my blog) and her whole world would change. I am happy for all my sister's achievements in life....but finding love....I am most happy for her. I could not have found someone to take care of my sister and love her as much as David loves Jamie if I had custom made him myself. One more month and two shall become one. I can't wait for that wonderful day so everyone can see the love the two of them have for each other. I love you both so much and wish you all the love life has to offer.

Birthday Wishes!!

Today is my baby sisters birthday! The years have flown by and I am amazed at the woman she has become.

Jamie has always been a soft spot in my heart....more than I think she knows. For starters...she's my only sibling! I'm territorial....she's all mine! We fought when we were little like many sisters do...no biggie, part of growing up.

It wasn't until I graduated from high school that Jamie and I really became close. We would talk at least once a week. When she graduated from high school and went off to college we started talking like every day! Some how, the miles between us made us closer. I've always been the emotional one...Jamie the rock. So much so that when she does call me crying....I turn into mother hen. Who did this to you, where can I find them.....lord help them. lol.

Jamie Lou, I hope you have a wonderful birthday! Your last one as an unmarried woman. I hope your knight in shining armour takes your out for a wonderful evening. I love you, and remember....I'll always have your back!
