Fat Tuesday

I HATE this day!!!!  I gained a little more.  It's my time of the month so I'm hoping it is just water weight...but I'm thinking that's not it.  I have got to get out of my funk!  I love food, this I know!  How can I give up all the yumminess?  There has to be a compromise somewhere....

Hope everyone else is doing well with their weightloss.

Five Question Friday

Thank God it's Friday!  This has been the longest week....EVER~!  I'm glad school has started and my kids have a routine again.  I just need to find time to relax this weekend, but I think it will be a busy weekend.

Unfortunately not.  Just school supplies here!

Honestly, I'm pretty open.  I like ALL music so seeing anything live is fun to me.

I HATE to mop the floors.  I don't mind doing dishes.

Fat Tuesday

I am beginning to hate this day of the week more and more.  I gained a pound and a half.  Ugh!  I know it is no ones fault but my own.  I'm the one that chooses to eat crap and then not work out.  But I danced my ass off Saturday and thought that would count for something.  Clearly not!

Hope everyone else is doing MUCH better than I.

We've got a winner!

Once again I'm super late with my SYTYCD post but what ya gonna do!  Melaine won it!

I know Tadd wasn't going to make it all the way.  But I don't mean that to be ugly.  Tons of props to him for making it to the finale!  That is the farthest a b-boy has ever gone on the show!  I knew they would have first and second place between the two girls!  All of the top 20 are awesome dancers and I know we will be hearing from all of them again.

One thing that surprised me and my daughter when watching the finale....Ryan really stood out.  I don't know if she has been practicing a lot or what.  She was really really good.  I loved all the dances the judges picked at their favorites.  This was one of their best seasons!



Fat Tuesday

Well, I only lost .2 pounds.  But, it's a loss just the same.  My husband and I went out of town this weekend and eat like king and queens so losing anything is awesome!

I recently did a friends boudoir shoot and we made one of those hardback book at Walgreens.  It turned out AMAZING!!!  And, now I really want to do one.  So to do that, I must lose a little and tone up.  I've done it before it is just finding time to get on the treadmill now.  Having an extra kiddo in the house makes these things hard.  But I'm determined!

I have a few posts lined up for the week.  I still need to do the finale of SYTYCD and I had a nice weekend in Gruene and San Antonio I would like to share.  School will be starting around here next Tuesday so things will get a little crazy until the kids are back in that routine.  Hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and is enjoying there Monday.

My beautiful daughter!

My beautiful daughter turned 18 yesterday!  A day mixed with sadness and happiness.  She is an adult now.  And that means my baby girl is no more.  But I do know, that no matter how big my little girl gets...sometimes she still just needs me.

For those of you new to my blog, Alexys is actually my step-daughter.  I came into her life right before her 7th birthday and have been a constant ever since.  She gave me my first taste of motherhood.  She also let me know the love between a Mother and a Daughter.  She was my first.  I've always told her, she was my first child. 

It has always been important to me from the beginning that Alexys was treated the same as my boys.  If anything, I'm more over protective of her then them sometimes.  This became more so when she moved in with us a year ago.  She began introducing me to her friends as "her mom".  Now, in the world of step-momhood....that is the ULTIMATE compliment.  I've always said that I have 3 kids, her and my two boys that I gave birth to.  People often say I don't look old enough to have an 18 year old, I don't even correct them.  I just smile and say thank you.

My baby girl has given me so much more then she will ever know.  I hope she knows each and every day just how much I love her.  Without her there would be a void in my life.

I love you baby girl!  Hope you had a wonderful birthday!

Thursday Predictions

Tonight is the last night of SYTYCD of the season!  Last night had some good ones and bad ones.

 Melanie and Marko do a disco.  I thought it looked all jacked up.  Their worst performance together, not that it was that bad (just the worse they have done together).  The lifts were not smooth.  Not a good performance for a season finale.

 Sasha and Mark do Jazz.  In case some of you live under a rock, Mark is one of Lady Gaga's dancers!  This dance was awesome!  I love Mark, perfect guy for this piece.  Awesome footwork and extensions.  Sasha always gives it her all.

 Tadd and Joshua do a hip hop routine.  I didn't love it.  I didn't think it was the dancers faults.  I didn't care for the choreography.  But he danced it well.  Tadd just looked like a little guy next to Joshua.

 Melanie and Robert do a contemporary number.  I didn't get the story but thought it was danced well.  Robert always does an amazing job.  Melanie partners very well with anyone.

 Sasha and Marko have a Broadway piece.  I liked it.  Marko stayed in character.  Awesome moves.  Very cute.

 Sasha and Tadd do a Cha Cha.  Not your normal cha cha, at least it didn't look like it.  Not a lot of booty shakin.  There were a few mess ups.  Not an awesome number but fun.

 Marko and Lauren do contemporary.  Very Good!  Great connections.  Emotional.  Good chemistry.  Great lifts.  One of the best of the night.

 Melanie and Tadd do a jazz.  Very fun routine.  Melanie does great in character!!  They did very well.

 Sasha and Melanie do a contemporary.  Totally got the story.  Great footwork.  Top 2 girls were amazing.

Marko and Tadd did a hip/hop.  They looked tired.  But I thought the choreography was great.  They work well together.

Now...who will win?  I know it is not Tadd.  I love him but the other two are better.  In all honesty, I think it will be a girl.  My opinion on it....  I think Melanie should win.  But this is really a popularity contest so I don't know how America did it.  Either way, they are both wonderful girls and will get several opportunities presented to them after the show and tour are over!

Things need to change

I was looking at my blog today.  I wasn't happy with what I saw.  Only Fat Tuesday and SYTYCD post, really?  I know there is more to my life then that!  So I want to change it.  I am unhappy with several things going on with my life, many that I can not change but my blog is something I have total control of.  Stay tuned!

The results....8/4

So, America saved all the cheerleaders for their whole bodies covered in hives....Ricky went home.  I will say this:  I know it seems like I am hating on Ricky.  I don't.  He has amazing solos.  But I do believe he needs some more work in partnering and he wasn't good at other genres like the other guys were. 

Caitlynn is amazing.  I love her solos and she really started coming out of her shell the past two weeks.  But compared to Sasha and Melanie, it was a no brainer that she was going home.  I don't think she was surprised.  Ricky on the other hand, seemed floored!  Not sure why he thought he was a sure thing for the finale.

I think America got it right this year and I can't wait to watch this week and see who this years winner is!

Fat Tuesday

Call the presses!  I lost a pound.  Really it's not that big of a deal.  Last week was water weight I think with my period crap.  Sometimes, I hate being a girl.  Like I really need something to make just a little bit chubbier once a month.  Ugh.  My neighbor and I are looking into taking a Zumba class like twice a week and if I though in the treadmill I think I will totally see some results.  I hope everyone is doing good on their weight loss.  Sorry I've been so MIA from blogger in twitter....but know that I miss all of you guys!



Fat Tuesday....almost a week late.

I have been SO off my game this past week or so.  I gained a pound last Tuesday.  What pisses me off even more about it?  The whole week before I had tummy troubles and was unable to keep any food in my system.  I SHOULD HAVE LOST!  But nope, I gained.  Awesome!

April didn't have get guest post ready this week either...but she did finally do her first post in her new blog, True Confessions of a Skinni Cow.  Hope everyone else did much better then me!

Thursday Predictions

One more week and SYTYCD will be no more until next summer.  This makes me sad.  But last nights show was awesome!  I always like when Lil C guest judges and I also think that Christina Applegate did an amazing job as well.

Melanie and Twitch dance a hip hop.  I didn't love the choreography in this one.  I didn't feel there was a lot of dancing in it.  What dancing there was, was done well.  We got to see a different side of Melanie, a little dirty side.

 Sasha and Kent do a contemporary piece.  I love Kent!!  Very good, very emotional.  Awesome technique.  Made you feel emotions.  Brought Lil C to tears, only seen that one other time!

 Marko and Janette do a paso doble.  Good Footwork.  Great lifts.  Used Janette as the cape, great concept.  Nigel didn't like it but the rest of the judges did.

 Tadd and Ellenore did a contemporary.  To much use of a prop.  Needed more dancing.  When it was danced, it was danced well.

Ricky and Jamie do a contemporary.  I didn't like the use of the props (music sticks).  Flowed nicely.  I didn't get much out of it but I think it's because I'm not a huge fan of Ricky's.  Judges seemed fine with it.

 Caitlynn and Pasha do a samba.  Very sexy.  Great footwork.  She looked all grown up.  Great booty shakin.

 Sasha and Ricky do the first ever waacking.  I don't love this style.  Ricky didn't seem like he gave it 100%.  Sasha wacked better per Mary.

 Melanie and Tadd do a Broadway.  Very Black Swan looking.  Very good!!!!  Great "acting", good chemistry.  Very sensual.

Caitlynn and Marko do a jazz.  Deep!  Caitlynn stayed in character.  Great lifts.  Amazing.  This was Caitlynn's moment!

Bottom 4, this is hard.  To me Ricky and Caitlynn are a given for the bottom but not sure about the other two positions.  I said it last week and I'll say it again, if Ricky makes it to the finale I hope all the cheerleader followers get hives all over their body (just like I did).  So, bottom 4:

Sasha and Melanie is really a toss up.  I think they will both make it to the finale and honestly I have no idea who will win this year!  Can't wait until tonight!
